Pattaya Bars

Any list of Pattaya bar's will be incomplete because with over 600 assorted bars of all styles and kinds there is always a new bar, or bar soi, opening. We have tried to select a few user friendly bars where the attraction is the bar and not the serving girls.

Bobby Joe's 69's Bar
Soi Regent Marine Hotel (Soi 0), Beach Road, Pattaya.
Tel: 038-361 115.
This is a hotch potch of a bar run by a mildly eccentric American veteran. Bobby Joe is stamped all over the place, from the food he cooks himself to streamed Classic FM radio from England. With plenty of parking in this otherwise dead area this is a great spot to escape to, eat Bobby's ribs and generally chill out.

Bowling Green
Soi Drarin.
Dedicated to that gentlemanly sport of lawn bowling, the inside of the place is equipped with big-screen TV, a snooker table and nicely-appointed lounge chairs. Occasional live music.

Hopf Brew House
219 Beach Road.
A huge air-con bar and restaurant that brews its own wheat beer and lager. You can get a half litre of the stuff for around Bt125 and it goes down well. On Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays, live entertainment comes from the inimitable Enzo, an Italian opera singer who performs flambuoyant operatic medlies and innovative renditions of pop songs. Well worth going to see at least once. Starts around midnight.

Jan Bar
Walking Street.
Run by an Aussie duo since about 1991. Music and sports videos, reasonably priced food and drinks and 'plenty of bullshit'.

Lobby, The
Soi Buakhow.
Big 50" screen TV, unashamedly catering to the English football lover. Good quality English food at sensible prices.

Mangapoon's
Between Soi 8 and Soi 7.
The bar is attached to the Siri Home Apartments and is the 'shortcut' between Soi 7 and Soi 8, or vice versa. Large pool table, relaxed atmosphere and reasonably priced drinks and snacks.

OK Corral
Soi Skaw Beach.
Formerly known as 'Fowler's', the place now boasts the longest bar in Pattaya. One small pool table and the usual TV for sports.

Pig 'n' Whistle
Soi 7.
A replica of an English pub and noted for its laid-back atmosphere and food. Look for Andrew, one of the English owners, if you want to while away a few hours listening to unlikely stories.

Queen Victoria Inn
Soi 6.
Named after an English pub this is a quiet oasis amid the 'rough and tumble' of the infamous, colloquially-known Soi Yodsak.

Rosie O'Grady's
Soi 7.
Modelled alongthe lines of an Irish pub. Next door to Pig 'n' Whistle, but bigger premises and occasional live music.

Shenanigans
Second Road.
Formerly known as Delaney's, this is replica Irish pub. Occasional live music and large screen TV showing everything from Formula 1 to rugby rnion and English football. Manager Kim is often found in the bar corner talking to locals; feel free to join in.

Sportsman's Inn, The
Soi 13.
Renovated in late 2001. Decent-sized pool table and a la carte dining. Cosy atmosphere
