South Thailand Nightlife
I have spent time in most of the places listed in this section, and the first thing to point out is that the words 'nightlife' and 'southern town' do not sit well together. Krabi and Phi Phi are about sun, sea and sand. If you want the fourth 'S', take your own. That said, you may find the odd party on the beach.
Had Yai has a reputation for catering to Malaysian tourists who visit the town's massage parlours but could hardly be classed as late night party animals. The last time I wandered the streets of Had Yai at night I met several large rats. They were friendly enough but I am a bit too large to party in a sewer. The disco at the JD Hotel is open late and is a good place to make friends!
Songkhla is a beach resort area with a few bar beers in the centre. However, it is a small town so don't expect any heart stopping excitement. See Bars
Sadoa border town..
Right on the border about 15 kms south of Sadoa there is a growing border town. The bars tend to be girlie bars and Karaoke. Can be fun. see baronbonk article
